Children’s Hope Horse Therapy and Education Centre
A bit more about Lowsha Equestrian
Lowsha Equestrian started out as Waka-waka Stables in Nov 2013, me, myself, Jolanda Horn Started Waka-Waka Stables with only 4 horses and 2 students. During the last few months of 2014, we started competing in show jumping shows with our students. During 2016 I decided to take a partner, (my Daughter) Rochelle Bosch and change the name to Lowsha Equestrian. We offer riding lessons, out rides, basic pony rides and equine/horse therapy. With the equine therapy, we try to assist with the children that have a learning disability. We also had a couple of children that we sponsored with lessons in the past 6 years. We aim to teach children about basic care of a horse/pony and their basic needs. With that in mind it also learns the child to be patient, upper their concentration and the sense of caring and sharing, not even mentioning the physical and mental progress that horse riding does for children of all ages. At Lowsha we don’t believe in pressuring the children, and we work according to their ability. This helps with a positive action, and give the children a feeling of accomplishment for their effort. We also give recognition for their hard work by having in yard shows, and ending all in a positive way. This helps the children’s confidence after all the hard work and concentration they have already put in to this sport. On these shows, we give rosettes and sponsor prizes to children. August 2019 we have applied for our NPO after consolidating with Beverly Woudberg of Apollo Educare Centre who also have her certificate in education and Psycologist. We have combined our knowledge and decided to start CH-TEC for children/teenagers in need, not only in horse therapy, but also education Centre with support with a soup kitchen (feeding scheme) for our students. Being passionate about horses and children, we have the privilege to combine and have a small farm style riding school, with education Centre & feeding scheme for our students.
